Proposal for renewing the identity of the Museum of Ethnography, Budapest, made for the open call announced by the museum.
The proposed logo and idenity reflects upon the future building, which will be housing the collections, builds upon associations of the “world” as a whole and a section of it, layers of the world and of cultures inhabiting is, a cradle where ideas could be born. On the other hand, it reflects upon the collection itself, deriving its colors from pictures of objects found in the collection of the museum. The color palette could be expanded anytime – along with the enrichment of the collections, such as the icons assigned to the sub-collections of the museum.
The identity itself intends to grow and develop along with the museum, trying to keep up with the changing paradigms of the institution of museums and – in this case especially – of museums of ethnography.
